The Ovidius University of Constanța is a public higher education institution for MBBS in Romania established in 1961 and transformed into a comprehensive medical university in 1990. The university has study programs in natural and medical sciences, engineering and humanities, economic and social sciences, law and administrative sciences, and arts and theology. The Ovidius University of Constanța offers internationally and nationally accredited programs at all three levels of study for its medical students such as the bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees offered being recognized in the entire European Union and beyond. With over 15,000 medical students, of which about 1200 are international, Ovidius University of Constanța is the largest university of the European Union at the Black Sea and the largest university in South-East Romania for perusing MBBS in Romania. The Ovidius University of Constanța lasts six years and offers Medicine in English. Like most other universities, the medical course consists of two parts as Pre-clinical and Clinical. The first three years of the MBBS course feature the pre-clinical stage and theory, where the focus is on laboratory practical and fundamental knowledge. The last three years of the course are where students perusing MBBS in Romania will gain clinical experience within the hospitals with surgical courses offered.
