Ivane Javakhishvili State University is the first and the oldest university in Tbilisi. It was established in 1918 with the goal to provide the best education and teaching to students. The founder of the university was Ivan Javakhishvili who was a Georgian historian and along with him, there were various scientists Giorgi Akhvlediani, Shalva Nutsubidze, Dimitri Uznadze, and Grigol Tsereteli. The university was established as far back as the 19th century but today’s date it is the most well-known university in Georgia. It is one of the largest institutions and today 25000 students are pursuing different kinds of studies and MBBS in this university. Not only does the Ivane Javakhishvili State University offers bachelor’s and doctorate degree but it also implements higher vocational education.
