Duke University, a private research university, was founded in the year 1838 by Quakers and Methodists. It was established in the present-day town of Trinity, which was later shifted in the year 1892 to Durham, North Carolina. Duke University has been accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate, master’s, doctorate, and professional degrees. Its rankings are among the top universities in the world. The university has been ranked by some of the prestigious ranking bodies – QS World University Rankings, THE Ranking, US News and Report Ranking, and CWUR Rankings. For instance, Duke University has been ranked 52nd by the QS World University Rankings 2022.
